"Rethinking the relationship between humans and buildings by reflecting social and political contemporary issues in design"

01 Home-ly: Cube

This competition called for young Thai architects to develop new solutions for dense urban spaces.
Nowadays, most of young Thai populations are “contained” in condominiums, preventing the growth of
the extended family. In Bangkok, new condominiums built within the last 5 years have an average of
350sf. for one bedroom unit, causing stress, discomfort, and a decreased interest in family expansion for
younger residents.

The Customizable Unit-Based Establishment (CUBE) project was created to build a personal home
environment in urban spaces.

CUBE consists of 2 catalogues:

● Type 1: A Basic Unit that includes a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen

● Type 2: A Personalized Unit that includes a Japanese onsen, fitness room, home theater, greenhouse, and pet-friendly rooms.

All units come completely furnished, enabling tenants to move in and begin their lives without the
inconvenience of designing the interior.

02 “Condo” for the habitats

This project aims to convert a floating house community in Halong Bay, Vietnam into a sustainable
community that can coexist with the local aquatic life to foster a sustainable ecosystem. Currently, the
floating house sits on a foam barrel that decays over time and contaminates the water. In addition,
water pollution due to the residents’ limited waste management knowledge is causing environmental
degradation in the area

.
The proposed “Vertical Living Solution” employs a sectional design consisting of three layers separating
spaces for aquatic life, humans, and bird life. The human living zone will be built from reusable material
with off-grid water treatment.

03 Nang Loeng

This design project for the Talat Nang Loeng Community in Bangkok was created so that the
community’s large open space could be used for recreational purposes.

The goal is to revitalize the recreational space though strategic placement of urban furniture like
benches, trees, light poles, pavement, and shaded areas to create a stage for performances,
rehabilitation zone, playground, and amphitheater.

04 Kloud by K bank

This competition against leading architectural firms in Thailand asked designers to propose a renovation
strategy for a 1,000 sqm. new bank branch in the heart of Bangkok Central Business District. The intent
was for the bank to become the ‘Innovative Iconic Green Building’ that could be a gathering space for
Generation Z and the Digital Generation, all while meeting LEED and Fitwel heathy building standards.

This design project won the competition as it created a “gathering space” through every aspect of its
design. The spatial planning of the interior was designed to integrate the co-working space seamlessly
with the bank’s waiting area to promote social interaction. On the exterior, the façade is formed by
curved LED projecting image into an urban space stimulating visual interaction between pedestrians and
the build structure.
